Allergies & Dust

Dust and Allergies Can Lead To Health Issues

Dust can be a serious problem in most workspaces and homes if not kept under control. Many people believe themselves to be unaffected by dust or the buildup of dust over time, not realizing that allowing dust particles to build up around them can severely compromise their immune system.

Allergy and asthma sufferers are among the first to fall under the attack of dust to their respiratory systems, and for them the dangers are substantial, often resulting in constricted airways which greatly hinder their ability to breathe correctly – and not enough oxygen, as we know, can create havoc with ones overall health on a long-term basis.

As foreign and harmful elements contained in dust, such as dust mites and their feces, pet danders, spores and molds grow in number and volume, these elements provide numerous triggers for detrimental health conditions and degenerative processes in children and adults alike.

What Does Dust Consist of?

Dust, a common term used to describe a combination of numerous microscopic particles that accumulate over time, is not just finely ground dirt, as most of us believe.

Although the makeup of dust differs from environment to environment, depending on the makeup of organic elements found in any given area, most dust is comprised of a combination of pollen, mold spores, insect parts, ash, dead skin flakes and dust mites and their feces (dust mites are microscopic insects that thrive in hot and damp environments – or in homes that offer the same environment).

Depending on any combination of these elements, dust particles will vary by size, creating various combinations of harmful air pollutants that affect us over time.

The Side Effects Of Dust In Your Environment

Unless we take steps to either reduce the amount of dust around us or even try to remove it completely (good lick with that project!), the various combinations of harmful dust particles that may find their way into our living space can end up taking over your house. If that happens, you and your loved ones may be facing potential health problems as these dust elements begin to trigger reactions from your immune system.

In fact, these reactions to dust can result in short-term sickness or allergy attacks, which can be unpleasant in the least and even escalate into serious lung damage, lung disease and even silicosis in the worst case scenarios.

Initial symptoms that you may experience from dust entering into your immune system can include one or a combination of the following:

  • Allergy Outbreaks
  • Fever
  • Asthma Attacks
  • Chest Pain
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Loss Of Appetite
  • Sore Throat
  • Excess Mucus

Logically, the idea would be to prevent dangerous symptoms from setting in, in the first place. There are various ways to go about that, including the cleansing of your living space from dust bunnies (larger clumps of dust elements), dust mites, pollen spores, mold, and other elements.

While sweeping, vacuuming and wiping surfaces with a dust cloth is effective in removing a large portion of dust, you will often find those harmful particles recollecting in no time, due to human traffic, bringing in particles from the outdoors, or other sources.

Triad Aer Air Purifier Prevents Dust Build-Up.

The best way to remove dust for good is with an effective air purifier such as Triad Aer. Unlike many air purifiers which are equipped with the high-rated HEPA filters, which need constant cleaning and/or replacing and do NOT remove the smaller elements, Triad Aer can take out even gasses and smoke!

For a full educaiton on the difference between Triad Aer non-filter based technology and that of the lesser effective HEPA Filter technologies, visit our page Air Purification WITHOUT HEPA Filters.
