Dust can be a serious problem in most workspaces and homes if not kept under control. Many people believe themselves to be unaffected by dust or the buildup of dust over time, not realizing that allowing dust particles to build up around them can severely compromise their immune system.
Allergy and asthma sufferers are among the first to fall under the attack of dust to their respiratory systems, and for them the dangers are substantial, often resulting in constricted airways which greatly hinder their ability to breathe correctly – and not enough oxygen, as we know, can create havoc with ones overall health on a long-term basis.
As foreign and harmful elements contained in dust, such as dust mites and their feces, pet danders, spores and molds grow in number and volume, these elements provide numerous triggers for detrimental health conditions and degenerative processes in children and adults alike.
Dust, a common term used to describe a combination of numerous microscopic particles that accumulate over time, is not just finely ground dirt, as most of us believe.
Although the makeup of dust differs from environment to environment, depending on the makeup of organic elements found in any given area, most dust is comprised of a combination of pollen, mold spores, insect parts, ash, dead skin flakes and dust mites and their feces (dust mites are microscopic insects that thrive in hot and damp environments – or in homes that offer the same environment).
Depending on any combination of these elements, dust particles will vary by size, creating various combinations of harmful air pollutants that affect us over time.
Unless we take steps to either reduce the amount of dust around us or even try to remove it completely (good lick with that project!), the various combinations of harmful dust particles that may find their way into our living space can end up taking over your house. If that happens, you and your loved ones may be facing potential health problems as these dust elements begin to trigger reactions from your immune system.
In fact, these reactions to dust can result in short-term sickness or allergy attacks, which can be unpleasant in the least and even escalate into serious lung damage, lung disease and even silicosis in the worst case scenarios.
Initial symptoms that you may experience from dust entering into your immune system can include one or a combination of the following:
Logically, the idea would be to prevent dangerous symptoms from setting in, in the first place. There are various ways to go about that, including the cleansing of your living space from dust bunnies (larger clumps of dust elements), dust mites, pollen spores, mold, and other elements.
While sweeping, vacuuming and wiping surfaces with a dust cloth is effective in removing a large portion of dust, you will often find those harmful particles recollecting in no time, due to human traffic, bringing in particles from the outdoors, or other sources.
The best way to remove dust for good is with an effective air purifier such as Triad Aer. Unlike many air purifiers which are equipped with the high-rated HEPA filters, which need constant cleaning and/or replacing and do NOT remove the smaller elements, Triad Aer can take out even gasses and smoke!

The job of our immune system is to find any foreign substances that have planted themselves in our airways, substances such as viruses and bacteria, and to get rid of them. That would be the ‘normal’ response from our system – and this normally would suffice to protect us from dangerous diseases and/or infections.
However, we are not all born with the same protective level of immunity – those people who suffer from pet allergies are known to have over-sensitive immune systems. The most common cause is usually thought to be dander, however, they can also react to harmless proteins in the pet’s urine or saliva, not just dander (which consists of dead skin cells). The symptoms that result are what we call an allergic reaction. These substances which cause allergic reactions, whether from dander or proteins, are known as allergens.
Because of the closed environment found in our homes, where very little fresh is cycled through, these pet allergens will collect on furniture upholstery, blankets and other surfaces such as the carpet. The allergens usually hang around for a long time, not losing their strength and ability to irritate, for a long time. If air circulation is very poor in your indoor environment, these allergens may even remain at high levels for several months – clinging to walls, furniture, clothing, and other surfaces.
To clarify, pet hair in itself is NOT an allergen. Rather, it can collect and hold dander, urine proteins and saliva in suspension. It also can carry other allergens like dust/dust mites and pollens.
Due to their extreme light weight and ability to float on the wind, pet allergens can show up even in homes and other places that have never housed pets. This is also because people can carry pet allergens on their clothing.
Allergens often float up into the air when an animal is petted or groomed. If your home has been invaded by these allergens, any movement can cause those pet allergens to be stirred up into the air again wherever the allergens have settled.
They are also often stirred up during any dusting, vacuuming or other household cleaning activities. Once airborne, the particles can stay suspended in the air for long periods of time, or carried from room to room as people come and go in their home.
The most irritation arises when cat and dog allergens land on the sensitive membranes that line the eyes and nose. Reactions to these allergens can include swelling and itching of the membranes, stuffy nose and inflamed eyes.
While a pet scratch – such as that from your cat, afflicted to an arm or hand during play – or even a lick from the pet, can cause the skin area to become red and irritated. One of the more common ways to get itchy eyes comes from petting an animal then touching your eyes before washing the hands in order to remove the allergens.
In some cases, if the allergen levels are low enough, or sensitivity is minor, those symptoms may not appear until after several days of contact with the pet.
One of the more bothersome symptoms that can appear, if the airborne particles are small enough to get into the lungs, is that of difficulty in breathing.
For some, even light exposure can cause severe breathing problems if the lungs are affected. Some of the symptoms that highly sensitive people can begin showing are coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Sometimes these symptoms appear after only 15 to 30 minutes of inhaling allergens. Another symptom that overly sensitive people might experience is an intense rash on the face, neck and upper chest.
Asthma is not something to be treated lightly as they can develop over time into true chronic issues. For example, contact with a cat can trigger a severe asthma episode (an asthma attack) in up to three in ten people who suffer from asthma. Cat allergies may also lead to chronic asthma.
Cigar and cigarette smoke odor removal is easy with the MyTriadAer V3 Technology including rooms that have suffered fire and/or smoke damage.
One of the reasons for its effectiveness is the introduction of ozone in very minimal and controlled amounts. Ozone is very effective in smoke odor removal because it destroys those smoke odors at their source.
As the ozone, mixed with the other plasma particles that the My Triad Aer V3 unit generates, is circulated throughout the room or facility, it oxidizes the fumes and smoke residue adhering to surfaces and even gets down into cracks and crevices.
The ozone will follow the same path that the smoke took throughout the building, so it removes the smoke smell from soft materials such as carpets, clothing, and upholstery.
When a person smokes, they are vaporizing the tar and other tobacco substances inside of the cigarette they are smoking. This smelly vapor sticks to just about everything in the room or home and even gets into closets and cabinets.
The My Triad Aer V3 machine will fill up every cubic inch inside a space or facility, oxidizing the odor-causing molecules at their source. Commercial cleaners can use the My Triad Aer V3 machine in offices, bars, bingo halls, pool halls or smoky restaurants to remove smoke odor and leave a clean smelling environment for patrons to enjoy the next day.
Mold awareness has increased by quite a bit in recent years due to more data coming in on the types and health dangers that mold presents to humans in their homes and offices.
While people who suffer respiratory issues are sometimes thought to be suffering from asthma or a cold, or other similar illnesses, it can very well be that they are suffering from mold symptoms but do not don’t realize it, instead, they may be assuming that they have hay fever or a cold.
It can be difficult sometimes in determining whether a symptom is mold-related or not. However, if you DO have mold on your home or office, and people are feeling sick for no logical or apparent reasons, then mold is more than likely the cause.
Mold is nothing new to mankind and has been around for a very long time. The big difference is that our indoor living has turned it into a much more insidious problem, although a very common problem today.
Those microscopic mold spores that we sometimes can see, especially if they build colonies on our walls, exist both indoors and outdoors and are easily spread by the air current.
These spores thrive in dark and moist places and usually grow in places that are hidden from sight, experience low air movement, and create damaging effects on structural material and household items alike.
Usually, when the mold growth is already visible, it means that structural damage has already occurred and the living conditions in the building are deteriorating rapidly to a level that is no longer safe and healthy.
Unless adequate measures such as removal are undertaken quickly and without delay, the colonies of mold growth can quickly spread throughout your entire property – posing a significant health risk to family and pets at home, your coworkers, employees, and clients at the office.
If things get this far along, it is best to contact professionals to completely remove the mold from your surroundings before the harmful microorganisms affect your health or irreversibly damaged your property.
Medical professionals from around the world have clearly found that there is a close relationship between living in a mold-affected environment and the extent of adverse respiratory symptoms that can arise amongst children.
When a young child inhales mold spores, he or she may start experiencing various respiratory problems, many of which are similar to the symptoms of seasonal allergies:
Even worse, if the child has, or is prone to asthma, then inhaling mold spores will more than likely trigger even more frequent or violent attacks and exacerbate the chronic lung disease already present.
If left untreated, mold will continue to ruin your property – drywall, flooring, and more – but can also infect furnishings and even clothes!
But more importantly, allergies and infections, as well as an overall deterioration of the living or working conditions in your space(s), will make your life miserable and even dangerous.
If these conditions are already apparent or beginning to show, the best thing you can do is to contact a Restoration and Recovery company. As soon as you notice mold growth in your home or office you will want to get someone over to inspect the premises and provide you with a professional plan.
